I'm a self-taught abstract artist. I was born in Chile but I was brought up and educated in the UK. Now I'm living and working in Chile.

My penchant for painting started at the age of 10. At the beginning, I pencil drew portraiture and painted fantasy landscapes in acrylics. Little by little I turned into oil in figurative, naive style.

In 2015, I started working more and more in abstract painting. I'm still developing my style and I want to refine it as much as possible.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Each painting is a journey to me. A journey into my inner self. It's an emotional experience that talks about my spiritual and metaphysical concepts.

Sometimes I sketch out my compositions; sometimes they are just intuitive sensations, but colours are very important to me. I usually work in many thin layers of paint on top of each other. Each new layer gives me inspiration for the following one.

Oil is my medium and I also use gesso (soft or sandy), gel, mineral or brick powder and sugar for textures. My tools vary from brushes (hard or soft), paper towels, rags, painting knives or my own fingers.
